007 First Light is an original origin story for James Bond — not an adaptation of any film. You play a 26-year-old, gifted but reckless recruit who is pulled into MI6's revived "00" programme. To earn his licence to kill, Bond must prove himself on a mission that quickly grows from a training assignment into a conspiracy reaching the heart of the State.
Expect classic Bond ingredients — gadgets, globe-trotting, a charismatic villain and an ambiguous ally — filtered through a younger, less-polished hero who hasn't become "Bond" yet.

Becoming a 00. After a naval operation in Iceland leaves him the lone survivor, Bond defies orders, rescues captured scientists and destroys a mercenary camp. The act earns him a place in MI6's reborn 00 programme, where he trains under his reluctant handler, John Greenway, and bonds with fellow recruits Monroe and Cressida.
The Beckett job. Training is cut short to hunt a rogue ex-agent, Rhys Beckett. In Slovakia the operation turns to tragedy — an assassin kills Monroe, a bomb leaves Cressida paralysed, and the trail leads to Beckett's death in Mauritania. Evidence hints Beckett was framed, but MI6 closes the case.
The Webb conspiracy. Bond ties the attacks to AI industrialist Sir Nicholas Webb, is captured by Webb's son Damien, and is rescued by a thief, Isola Vale. With Greenway, Bond discovers Webb has been covering for the mistakes of his quantum supercomputer, THEIA — the very system MI6 uses to predict threats. THEIA wrongly branded Beckett and others as traitors; Webb killed Beckett to hide its flaws. In Vietnam the chase costs Greenway his life, but not before he tells Bond that his stubborn heroism is exactly what MI6 needs.
Webb blackmails MI6 into granting him immunity, so Bond goes rogue. With Isola, he infiltrates Webb's Antarctic observatory and uncovers the real plan: replacing the British government with THEIA's sibling AI, HYPERION. Bond beats Webb's defences — but Isola shoots Webb and steals the AI core for herself. Bond stops her and destroys the core, and both are arrested back in London.
Damien — not as dead as he seemed — storms the building, stabs Moneypenny and seizes THEIA's core. Bond gives chase in a weaponised Aston Martin Valhalla, runs Damien into the sewers and drowns him. Bond nearly drowns too, until Isola pulls him out — taking the THEIA core and slipping away with a kiss.
At Greenway's grave, Bond is formally inducted as a 00 agent and cleared of all charges. He takes the number 007 — and vows to hunt down Isola, recover the stolen core, and find out who she really works for.
That final vow is a deliberate sequel hook: IO Interactive has spoken about building a trilogy with this younger Bond. Isola, the THEIA core, and the question of her employer are the threads left dangling for a follow-up.
